Leveraging Remittances for Development

This report discusses the increasing importance of remittances on development; specifically looking at which countries receive the largest amount of remittances, the ways in which remittances can and have reduced poverty, the ways in which they promote education, health and entrepreneurship, among others. The report summarizes the Remittances agenda under four headings: (1) Monitoring, analysis, and projection; (2) retail payment systems; (3) financial access of individuals or households; and (4) leveraging remittances for capital market access of financial institutions or countries.
