Vanessa Leigh

Vanessa Leigh was the Regional Mixed Migration Manager for the West Africa regional office of the Mixed Migration Centre based in Dakar until August 2020. She has over eight years’ experience in managing projects on migration and human rights, including in the fields of human trafficking and assessment of legal migration directives carried out for the European Commission DG HOME. From 2016 to 2018, Vanessa also worked as an assessor judge for UNHCR in the French asylum appeal court (Cour Nationale du Droit d’Asile) and prior to that spent time as a legal caseworker with the NGO Asylum Access based in Quito, Ecuador. She holds a law degree from the University of Warwick, and an MA in European Affairs from Kings College London and Sciences Po Paris.
