Standard Questions on International Migration: Guidance note for the use in population censuses and household surveys
This note provides guidance for improving the quality and comparability of international migration statistics collected through national population censuses and household surveys. It was prepared on the basis of a comprehensive review of national census questionnaires for the 2010 round of population and housing censuses.
Guidelines concerning statistics of international labour migration
These guidelines aim to support countries to facilitate data collection activities on international labour migration and to encourage them to test the conceptual framework suggested in the guidelines.
Statistics for SDG indicator 10.7.1: Draft Guidelines for their Collection
Goal 10.7 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) calls for facilitating orderly, safe, and responsible migration and mobility of people, including through implementation of planned and well- managed migration policies. The objective of this document is to provide guidelines that may assist those aiming to produce the statistics needed to calculate SDG indicator 10.7.1, “Recruitment cost borne by employee as a proportion of monthly income earned in country of destination.”

A new guide from IOM for government actors involved in implementing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as they relate to migration. The guide aims to help policymakers integrate migration into local and national development planning.
Assessing the capacity of national statistical systems: A user’s guide
The guide identifies four tool typologies to assist in the preparation of national statistical strategies; aid in the development of capacity building efforts; monitor statistical performance internationally; and asses quality of statistical codes of practice. The Assessment guide compares 15 of the most common assessment tools and explains how to interpret and use them. It further offers a more in-depth description of each of the tools, as well as resources for further guidance.
