The Global Migration Data Analysis Centre
Established in Berlin in September 2015 at the invitation of the Government of Germany, the International Organization for Migration’s Global Migration Data Analysis Centre (GMDAC) was set up to respond to calls for better international migration data and analysis. Data are key to inform migration governance, improve programming and promote a better public understanding of migration.

3. PROMOTE evidence-based policies by compiling, sharing and analysing IOM and other sources of data.
GMDAC work areas:
1. KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
Improving access and understanding of international migration data through online tools, publications, workshops and global conferences
2. CAPACITY BUILDING
Providing guidance and training on data concepts, collection, analysis, and governance to practitioners worldwide
3. DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
Improving the evidence base for migration governance and programming through data analysis and development of new indicators
