Data collaboratives in West Africa

Big Data for Migration Alliance (BD4M) Partners

EC Joint Research Centre, The GovLab and IOM Global Migration Data Analysis Centre

The partners of the BD4M Alliance are IOM's Global Migration Data Analysis Centre, the European Commission's Joint Research Centre and The GovLab:

  1. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Global Migration Data Analysis Centre (GMDAC) was set up to respond to calls for better international migration data and analysis. The Centre aims to strengthen  the role of data in global migration governance, support IOM Member States’ capacities to collect, analyse and use migration data and promote evidence-based policies by compiling, sharing and analysing IOM data, and other sources of data.

  2. The GovLab is an action research center based at New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering and its DataCollaboratives.org website is a resource on creating public value by exchanging data, collecting examples of data collaboratives from around the world, and providing information on how to develop and implement a data collaborative.

  3. The Joint Research Centre is the European Commission's science and knowledge service. The JRC employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
